Slamp, the Italian company renowned for its poetic and theatrical indoor lighting—and now also outdoor collections—joins the Eccellenze Italiane project, promoted by Mazda Italia in collaboration with Inghirami Company.
This national initiative aims to highlight the value of handmade craftsmanship, meticulous attention to detail, and the fusion of tradition with technological innovation—principles that both brands embody and that represent the highest standards of quality.
The Eccellenze Italiane project was created to showcase a selection of companies that have long embraced a dedicated approach to merging engineering with artisanal manufacturing. This initiative celebrates the unique qualities of Italian excellence while underscoring its synergy with Mazda’s DNA. The project fosters the creation or customization of products that bridge the gap between Crafted in Japan and Made in Italy.
This journey is marked by a series of events across Italy, culminating in June with a major national exhibition showcasing all the creations developed for the initiative. On Wednesday, March 12, Slamp’s headquarters in Pomezia (Rome) hosted an exclusive event in collaboration with Carpoint, Mazda’s official dealership. With over forty years of experience in the mobility sector, Carpoint is a well-established reference in the Roman automotive landscape and enthusiastically joined the initiative to promote the values of craftsmanship and dedication that define both Mazda and Slamp.
With an international vision and a deep connection to Italy and its heritage, Slamp designs and manufactures its lighting creations in Pomezia, following rigorous standards of quality and sustainability. As the symbol of this collaboration, the Hanami was chosen—entirely handcrafted by Slamp’s skilled “light seamstresses.”
Hanami embodies craftsmanship, quality, innovation, and a poetic vision—core elements of Slamp’s identity. Designed by Adriano Rachele, this suspension lamp is inspired by the traditional Japanese ceremony of admiring cherry blossoms, with its name literally meaning “to view flowers.” The chandelier features a delicate yet lush design, creating a unique lighting effect. Its hand-folded Lentiflex® petals—a noble and shatterproof material that mimics the reflections of a diamond—are arranged along a steel and polycarbonate structure housing LED bulbs.
To celebrate the collaboration with Mazda, Hanami has been crafted in the exclusive Artisan Red color, inspired by the striking new shade of the Mazda CX-80.
Following the factory tour, guests were welcomed in the showroom by Roberto Pietrantonio, CEO of Mazda Motor Italia, Domenico Chianese, CEO and Vice President of Carpoint, and Roberto Ziliani, Founder and CEO of Slamp.
